See a cake's margin before you send the quote

Tortownik calculates the cost of every recipe from the ingredient prices you actually pay — including sub-recipes, packaging, and decor. No spreadsheet, on your phone in the kitchen.

What's inside

A recipe list sorted by margin

A red bar is a recipe you're selling below target. Green holds its own. You set the margin target once, in settings.

Orders — grouped by day, with a running total

Onboarding

Get started in 15 minutes, not a weekend

Three steps. After the first you see the cost, after the third the system calculates on its own.

Step 1

Upload your ingredients

A ready-made catalog of 69 priced items or your own CSV file. A few minutes, not an afternoon with receipts.

Wheat flour, extra fine$3.49
White sugar$2.29
Butter, extra 82%$4.99

+ 66 items in the catalog

Step 2

Build your first recipe

Enter quantities. Cost and margin calculate themselves — including sponge or cream as a sub-recipe. The list shows right away which recipe misses the target.

Blueberry Dream Cake
$13.1162.5%
Ferrero Rocher Cake
$13.2567.9%
Snickers Bento
$6.3771.7%
Step 3

Log orders — everything else happens on its own

Customer, pickup date, items from the recipe. The list groups by day with a daily total, and you change status with one button. The same orders build the production calendar and shopping list — nothing gets entered twice.

Cost and price freeze at confirmation. Raise the price of butter in November and September's cake keeps the profit it actually made.

Features

Everything between a quote and pickup

Not another spreadsheet. A tool that remembers prices, calculates margin, and tells you what to bake today.

Recipes and costs

Changing the price of butter recalculates every cake

Enter a recipe once. Its cost calculates itself from current ingredient prices — including sub-recipes you use in several cakes at once.

  • Sponge, cream, and ganache as a recipe inside a recipe
  • Suggested price from your target margin
  • Price history for every ingredient

Orders and calendar

Know what to bake Saturday and how much you'll make

The production calendar shows day by day. Change status with one tap; deposit and discount live on the order.

  • Week and month views
  • Cost and price frozen at confirmation — history never changes
  • Printable production card

Shopping list

The list assembles itself from your orders

Pick a date range and get totals in the units you buy in. Nothing to calculate on paper before you head to the supplier.

  • Totals per ingredient across every order
  • Check off items in the store, on your phone
  • Estimated shopping cost

What a spreadsheet doesn't show

Decor sits on both sides of the ledger

The decor surcharge and the cost of decor materials are two separate numbers, not one seen from two sides. You see whether the surcharge even covers the sugar flowers and topper — before you send the quote, not after.

Customer surcharge$20
Sugar flowers, topper, gold leaf$11
Margin on decor: $9 — visible right away.

Questions

Before you sign up

Didn't find yours? Write in — I answer personally.

This is for you if…

  • You bake to order, alone or with one other person
  • You price by eye or with a spreadsheet from last year
  • You want to know which cake actually makes money

This isn't for you if…

  • You run a warehouse with raw-material batches
  • You sell retail through a cash register
  • You have a team of a dozen-plus people with roles and schedules
Do I need a registered business?

No. Tortownik works the same whether you're a hobby baker or a registered bakery — when to formalize the business is up to you.

What happens after the 14-day trial?

Your account doesn't disappear. You move to the free plan with quantity limits — your data stays, you just can't add more than the limit allows until you move to the unlimited plan.

Can I export my data and leave?

Yes, anytime. There's no lock-in — that's one of the principles Tortownik is built on.

Does it work well on a phone?

Yes, that's the main way it's used. We design the mobile view first, because in the kitchen a phone is always at hand and a laptop isn't. You can add it to your home screen like a regular app.

What happens if I go over the free plan's limit?

You'll see a message when you try to add another item. Nothing gets deleted or retroactively blocked — you just can't add a new one until you free up space or move to the unlimited plan.

Where do the catalog's ingredient prices come from?

They're reference prices from Polish wholesalers and shops, loaded in one click when you sign up. After import you swap them for your own — the price history stays with each ingredient. See the full cake cost calculator

Will a change in butter's price break my old orders?

No. At confirmation, an order's cost and price are locked in for good. A profit from six months ago stays exactly what it really was.
